CHALTE CHALTE does it again with this adorable romance about an arranged marriage that becomes something special. A big city girl (Priyanka Chopra) is married to a small-town boy (Rajesh Sharma) in Rajasthan. She's the educated daughter of a progressive family; he has never left his dusty village. Yet, like all Indian marriages, theirs is one of choice and love. The pressures on both families are immense—she must learn how to cook; he must learn how to live in the modern world, without sacrificing the dignity and honor of his culture. The girl's parents grow fond of their son-in-law, even as the boy's family falls in love with her. And then comes a tragedy that threatens to fracture the marriage. But the power of love overcomes all obstacles. The film was well received by critics, who called it "light" and "sweet". The soundtrack album was released on 16 July 2005 under the record label, Sony Music. The music for the film was composed by Indivar, while three songs were composed by Arundhati-Priyanka Chopra. The soundtrack received positive reception. Rediff calling the album "instantly likeable" and "a must buy". Planet Bollywood reviewing the album stating that, "Music of CHALTE CHALTE apart from being soothing is also quite lively". According to the Indian trade website Box Office India, with around 11,00,000 units sold, this film's soundtrack album was the year's fourteenth highest-selling.CHALTE CHALTE has created waves in India and overseas. It has become the first Indian film to be dubbed into French and released in France earlier this year. The film is set to be released in Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK soon.
